A journalist and martial artist is being hailed as a hero after sustaining near-fatal stab while saving another person in the terror attacks that shocked London on Saturday.
Geoff Ho, a business editor of the Sunday Express, was dining out with his friends at Southwark Tavern when the attacks began.
Ho was stabbed in the neck while defending a bouncer, Resonate noted, as he shared in a Facebook post:
“Don’t know whether it was stupid or noble to jump in and break up the fight outside the Southwark Tavern, but two a*******s trying to do over the lone bouncer on the door isn’t happening on my watch.”
Ho also thanked people in a tweet, saying, “Thank you every one for the best wishes. I got out of surgery yesterday and am on the mend.”

In video footage of the aftermath, Ho was seen clutching his bleeding neck while being escorted to an ambulance by a police officer. He was found recovering in an intensive care unit the following day.

Ho also practices kung fu and kickboxing, which may have contributed to his outstanding character to defend others. Isabelle Oderberg, a friend of Ho, revealed to The Age:
“He is actually a martial artist and I wouldn’t be surprised if he would have stood up and been counted because he’s just that type of person.”
Seven people died and 48 were injured in the Saturday attacks at London Bridge and Borough Market, The Telegraph wrote. The perpetrators, who shouted “This is for Allah!” while wearing fake suicide vests, were shot dead by police.
Azeem Rasool,another friend of Ho, has started a GoFundMe page to raise money to donate to the charities of Ho’s choice.
